Every Reacher TV Season and Movie, Ranked
For years the conversation about Jack Reacher on screen started and ended with one question: how did Tom Cruise play him? Lee Child created Reacher in 1997 and over nearly 30 novels built a towering, lethal drifter. Amazon Prime Video’s 2022 reboot with Alan Ritchson landed in a way the films did not, and three seasons later the series has drawn tens of millions of viewers; a Neagley spin-off has been greenlit and Season 4, adapting Gone Tomorrow, is confirmed for 2026.
At the bottom of this ranking sits Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (2016). The film’s espionage plot is weighed down by a predictable subplot about a possible daughter, and Reacher often reacts where he should be driving the action. Reacher Season 2 (2023) fares slightly better: it opens with a man thrown from a helicopter and adapts Bad Luck and Trouble into a globe-trotting revenge thriller, but its team dynamics and broader conspiracy sacrifice the intimate, small-town tension that made Season 1 sing.
The 2012 Jack Reacher lands in the middle.
