Everything Everywhere directors confirm new sci‑fi action film
Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, the directing duo behind Everything Everywhere All at Once, are preparing a new sci‑fi action picture. Their previous film premiered in March 2022 at the South by Southwest Film Festival, became a global phenomenon and won seven Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Actress (Michelle Yeoh), Best Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan) and Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis), securing more above‑the‑line Oscars than any other movie in history.
Kwan has shared early details, describing the project as "fun sci‑fi, action comedy with a big heart. Very existential." He added that one of his responsibilities as a storyteller is to "meet the world where it's at," suggesting the film will try to reflect contemporary complexity and nuance.
They expect to begin shooting this summer and, "if all things go to plan," aim to release the film in November 2027.
