Ex-Chelsea star calls Pedro Neto an 'idiot' after red card vs Arsenal

Chelsea’s disciplinary problems surfaced again as Pedro Neto was sent off in a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. The Portuguese winger lost his composure in a frantic second half, leaving his side a man down while they were chasing an equaliser, and prompting a sharp reaction from former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton.

The game was level until Jurrien Timber restored Arsenal's lead with 24 minutes remaining. Neto first received a yellow for dissent after protesting the goal and, three minutes later, was shown a second yellow for a cynical foul on Gabriel Martinelli that stopped a counter-attack.

The numerical disadvantage proved decisive as Chelsea slipped to defeat. Sutton voiced his disbelief after the match, saying the individual error undermined the team's collective effort. "From Chelsea’s point of view, Pedro Neto let them down badly.
