Archetype Entertainment released a brief medley of Exodus gameplay clips that open with gunplay as protagonist Jun, flanked by two squaddies, moves from cover to cover and deploys a multi-function zorcher. The video cuts to a space tower where Jun uses a traversal tool the game calls a "railclaw"—effectively a grappling hook—and finishes at an "ancient shrine on Khonsu," where players will likely pick up a power, weapon, bit of lore, or something after solving a puzzle.

First impressions remain mixed. The initial 2024 look left some underwhelmed, with the immediate thought that the game bears a strong resemblance to Mass Effect. As PC Gamer’s Jody MacGregor put it, it "looks fine," a judgement echoed by others viewing the new clips.

That response stands in contrast to the cinematic teasers narrated by Matthew McConaughey, which set a grander tone with talk of "freaky flesh spaceships" and fraught human choices.
