The Extraction franchise, which began with Chris Hemsworth's 2020 film and returned in 2023, is gearing up for a third instalment. Sam Hargrave will again direct; he built his reputation as a stunt performer and coordinator on Marvel films before moving into direction and crafting elaborate single-take action sequences.

What's On Netflix says production is due to start in June, with filming planned in Hemsworth's native Australia and at several locations across Europe. The cinematographer attached is Fraser Taggart, who worked on the last two Mission: Impossible movies with director Christopher McQuarrie.

Taggart replaces Newton Thomas Sigel, who is occupied with Avengers: Doomsday, and Greg Baldi, who shot the second Extraction. The second film also introduced a new character played by Idris Elba, who could return in the third instalment.
