Prime Video renewed Fallout for a third season ahead of season 2's December 2025 premiere. The show, which premiered in 2024 and became the streaming service's second-most-watched original after The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, is expected to begin filming around mid-2026 and could plausibly arrive in late 2027, executive producer Jonathan Nolan has suggested.

The core leads—Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten and Walton Goggins—are widely expected to return, and the series may also bring back characters such as Kyle MacLachlan and Justin Theroux's Robert House, while Macaulay Culkin's character is set to become Legate/Caesar.

The article lists several other possible returning cast members from season 2. Season 2 ended with several open threads that season 3 could follow: Cooper Howard's arrest, the Ghoul reaching Colorado, Lucy and Maximus reuniting, the Brotherhood unveiling Liberty Prime Alpha, and Vault 32's apparent "Phase 2" hinting at FEV-related consequences and widespread microchip technology in the Wasteland.
