Fallout season 3 could trace the Legion's origins

At the end of Fallout season 2, The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) finds a postcard marked with the Rocky Mountains in his wife’s New Vegas cryopod and sets out to find his family. Many expect season 3 to head to Colorado, home to Vault 0, but co-showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet said, "The postcard is aiming him toward Colorado, but where we're actually going next season we're not committing to quite yet." Traveling from Las Vegas to Colorado naturally takes you through Utah, which the games have already used.

In the Honest Hearts expansion players visit Zion Canyon, one of the few places spared from nuclear bombing, and New Vegas establishes that Caesar's Legion holds some power in the state. Like the Mojave Wasteland, Utah is crowded with tribes, gangs, and raiders fighting for survival.

One storyline the show could follow is the fall of New Canaan. In Fallout canon, New Canaan was founded by Mormon survivors.
