Fans Fall for Pombon After New Pokémon Winds and Waves Reveal
Nintendo has unveiled Pokémon Winds and Waves, the next mainline entry in Generation 10. The game is a Switch 2 exclusive and won’t arrive until 2027, leaving fans plenty of time to speculate about features and starters. Of the three new starters, Pombon quickly became the runaway favorite.
Browt drew eye-rolls as another grass bird type, and Gecqua landed as an amphibious water type, but Pombon’s tongue-wagging, fiery-canine design charmed many—“I have known about Pombon for 2 minutes, but I would die for it and I would kill for it,” one fan wrote.
Reaction to the game’s visuals was also broadly positive. Viewers praised the graphics, trainer-base designs and hints at full underwater exploration, calling Generation 10 “gorgeous” and a step up from recent releases. The reveal included a vacationing Pikachu couple, named Mr.
