Fans Recreate Mystery Dungeon Landmarks in Pokopia
Pokémon Pokopia is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity has vanished, and that bleak premise has inspired a fan theory linking the game to the Mystery Dungeon series. Both games cast the player as a Pokémon in a humanless world, making the prequel idea an easy connection for many players.
Acting on that association, creators in Pokopia have begun rebuilding Mystery Dungeon’s distinctive Pokémon-shaped structures. Notable recreations include a Pelipper-shaped post office and the Sharpedo Bluff, echoing the series’ familiar landmarks. Some players have gone further, sharing finished interiors alongside their exterior builds.
Others say they’re still focused on making their Pokémon’s houses look pretty, though plenty of impressive projects keep appearing each day. The Mystery Dungeon series has been relatively dormant—the last new title was 2015’s Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, and the original was remade for Switch as Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX in 2020—yet it remains a fan favorite.
