Fans relive Kristen Wiig's emotional SNL goodbye

On March 17 an X user shared a clip from Wiig's final sketch — Season 37's "She's a Rainbow"/"Ruby Tuesday" — which staged the "graduation" of SNL's Class of 2012. Backed by Arcade Fire and written by Colin Jost, the piece doubled as a farewell and showed many cast members dancing with Wiig, including Andy Samberg, who also departed that night.

The moment hit viewers hard, especially when stars like Jason Sudeikis and Samberg were overcome with emotion while dancing with Wiig. The X caption read, "Genuinely heartbreaking to see Jason so upset ohhh my god." Wiig later called the sketch "one of the best moments of my life." She said it began at read-through — "we did it and I danced with everyone, and it very emotional and it was beautiful" — and nearly didn’t make the show because they were running out of time, forcing one of her fastest costume changes ever.
