Fans Speculate a Kratos-less God of War Spin-Off Is In The Works
Fans noticed a now-deleted LinkedIn page from a Senior Writer at Sony Interactive Entertainment that said they “Helped shape narrative vision and creative direction for a new franchise within the God of War universe” and that their time at the studio ended last September.
The listing sparked talk that a major God of War title is in development — one that might not include Kratos. Reporter Jason Schreier added fuel to the discussion with the post: “I suppose now it’s become obvious what I meant by ‘not a new IP but it might feel like one.'” God of War has been busy of late.
Sony revealed a remake of the original trilogy and a surprise 2D prequel, Sons of Sparta, during the most recent State of Play. At the same time, Sony closed Bluepoint Games after their live-service God of War spin-off was cancelled following the dramatic fall of Concord, and the first footage of Amazon’s live-action adaptation drew comparisons to a Super Bowl commercial.
