Fans spot ChatGPT tabs in Duffer brothers' Stranger Things 5 making-of
Movieweb reports that Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer are facing criticism on social media after Netflix released One Last Adventure: The Making Of Stranger Things 5, in which a cutaway shot appears to show a laptop screen with ChatGPT open. Keen-eyed viewers posted reactions on platforms including Bluesky, with one user asking, "What do you mean the stranger things documentary shows them writing the script on a computer with 3 ChatGPT tabs open?" Some commenters suggested the finale looked AI-generated, while others questioned why cameras would capture writers at work, writing, "It's second unit stuff to illustrate the documentary.
Why would they have film of themselves originally writing the script?" Separately, Jennifer Marshall, who played Susan Hargrove, addressed her absence from Season 5 on Instagram: "I had cancer, I get it. But I was in remission during the shooting of Season 5. Shooting would have helped me obtain my health insurance through the union.
Maybe they had too many characters, idk but obv Susan Hargrove is THE WORST MOTHER EVER LMAO. #strangerthings #strangerthings5 #cancer #cancersucks #butwhy." She later told Variety, "I just made the reel as a funny thing and it blew up. I hold no ill will toward anyone and just wish things would have gone a different way.
