Fearne Cotton on impatience, public life and who would play her
Born in London, Fearne Cotton began presenting The Disney Club at 15 and later became a Radio 1 DJ, hosting her own show from 2009 to 2015. She currently presents Radio 2’s Sounds of the 90s and in 2017 launched the Happy Place community; that project has grown into an award-winning podcast, an annual festival and a publishing imprint.
The author of bestselling personal development books, her latest, Likeable, is out next week. She lives in London and has two children with her former husband, Jesse Wood. Cotton names impatience as the trait she most deplores in herself and says superiority in others makes her shrink and grow almost mute.
Her most embarrassing on-air moment was saying “anal” instead of “angel.” She describes herself as “eager to learn,” used to dislike her nose but has learned to embrace it, and admits her guiltiest pleasure is a daytime bath.
