The Finalissima between reigning European champions Spain and South American champions Argentina, scheduled for March 27 in Doha, has been thrown into doubt after Qatar halted all sporting activity following Iranian strikes on bases within the country and an escalation of conflict across the Middle East.

The Qatar Football Association has announced the "postponement of all tournaments, competitions, and matches until further notice," a suspension that covers domestic league action and high-profile international events. With only 26 days to go until kick-off, regional airspace restrictions are complicating travel for both delegations, and the country’s Supreme Committee — which technically oversees the Finalissima — will make the final call on whether the match can proceed.
