Finji CEO: our inbox is full of AI-made games and pitches
Finji CEO Rebekah Saltsman says the studio's inbox is crammed with games made with AI, pitches written with AI, and resumes generated by AI, and she's tired of seeing it. "You would not believe the number of AI games that we have in our inbox right now," she told PC Gamer, relaying what Adam said after his most recent comb through the box.
Finji, co-founded by Rebekah and Adam "Atomic" Saltsman, is a small operation known for publishing Tunic, Night in the Woods, the Wilmot games, Cannabalt and Overland. The studio is selective about what it makes and publishes; its open inbox is reviewed regularly, Saltsman says—at least once a month but often once a week.
Saltsman thinks some developers include AI-generated art because they are programmers or designers who feel they must show art in a pitch. She suggests they would be better off sending boxes and programmer art to demonstrate mechanics. "We're game designers. It's our job to help you fill out a team to make this incredible.
