Finn Wolfhard Brings Stranger Things Costars on SNL Monologue
Nbc reports that Finn Wolfhard brought two former Stranger Things costars, Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin, onstage during his January 17 Saturday Night Live monologue.
The trio joked about what it was like to grow up onscreen during the show's nearly decade-long run. Wolfhard deadpanned, "It started when I was 12, and I gotta tell you, it feels so amazing that 400 million people got to watch me go through puberty." McLaughlin said, "We're not child stars. We're former child stars," and Matarazzo added, "And anytime you read 'former child star' in a headline, that can only mean good things." The episode also featured Sabrina Carpenter returning as boy podcaster Tayson in a "Snack Homiez" sketch with A$AP Rocky, a Heated Rivalry/Harry Potter parody, the "Boy Band" sketch, and a cold open in which Jeremy Culhane took over a role after Bowen Yang exited the cast midway through Season 51, with Ashley Padilla as Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
The Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire actor said that after a decade of playing Mike Wheeler he "can't wait to star in 'adult movies.'" The show airs Saturdays at 11:30/10:30c and is available the next day on Peacock, and sketches from every episode stream on Peacock anytime.
