Finn Wolfhard Parodies Euphoria Season 3 Writers Room on SNL
Nbc reports that in a Season 51 bonus sketch from January 17, host Finn Wolfhard channeled Euphoria creator Sam Levinson as the head of the show's Season 3 writers room.
The sketch shows the fictional writers hiring new voices — Marcello Hernández and Jane Wickline from Sex Education, Chloe Fineman from Industry, and Chester Barnhill (played by James Austin Johnson) of Reba and Happy's Place — only to find one writer clearly out of sync. Chester pitches sitcom-style ideas, asking, "What if instead of an alcoholic, Rue's a chocoholic?" and imagining Rue "covered in chocolate, wrappers all over the place." He also says, "I watched a couple trailers and got the gist," adding, "It's like Peanuts, but they're teens," and at one point exclaims, "I'm sorry, but y'all cannot put that on TV!"
Meanwhile Wolfhard's character describes season storylines that the sketch frames as increasingly horrifying, including a Hawaii-set episode compared to a classic Brady Bunch three-parter. The parody is titled "Cut for Time: Euphoria Writer" (Season 51, Episode 10) and, according to the piece, can be watched as part of SNL's available episodes, with every season of Saturday Night Live streaming on Peacock.
