First Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer arrives, packed with villains

The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has arrived, offering a look at the next era for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. It’s heavy on cameos, with a string of Spider-Man B-list villains alongside Mark Ruffalo’s return as the Hulk and Jon Bernthal as the Punisher.

The footage reintroduces Michael Mando as Scorpion/Mac Gargan, last seen in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and adds Marvin Jones III (Krondon) as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone. The sinister ninja clan the Hand also appears, and the trailer hints at an MCU take on the classic "Man-Spider" storyline in which Peter Parker’s DNA is altered again by the radioactive spider that bit him.

At the centre of the story is Peter reckoning with events from Spider-Man: No Way Home, when Dr. Strange erased the world’s memory of his identity. Even longtime friends Ned and MJ don’t remember him, and the trailer features a confessional letter narrated by Peter as he grapples with the consequences.
