Five Sun and Moon features that evolved the series
Pokemon Sun and Moon stayed on Nintendo 3DS but still found fresh ways to evolve beyond Pokemon X and Y. Arriving late in the handheld's life cycle, Game Freak were able to get much more out of the console, and untethered exploration along each route feels much more free form, aided by traversal options enabled by certain special Pokemon.
The sunny, Hawaiian inspired Aloha region added plenty of new creatures and special, unique forms for classic Pokemon, giving old favorites a new lease of life. Special moves neatly evolved from mega evolutions, making for a sunny adventure that remains one of my favorites to revisit when I just want to soak in some fantastic vibes.
Rotom inhabits your Pokédex in Sun & Moon, unlocking a suite of new features exclusive to this entry: a real-time map that indicates areas of interest, the ability to take pictures and even speak to you.
