Keith Wallis is accused of committing 75 thefts of Pokémon TCG boxes from Target stores between July 2025 and February 2026, taking at least $10,000 worth of product across locations from Orlando to Miami, the office of attorney general James Uthmeier says. The office's statement describes his method: he would pick up "large boxes of trading cards" alongside an equal number of 99-cent taco seasoning packets, bring both to the self-checkout, scan and pay for the seasoning, and place the Pokémon cards in his bags.

He then sold the cards on eBay. In total, he is said to have stolen $10,000 worth of cards but made $40,000 reselling them. The investigation is ongoing. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and the Office of Statewide Prosecution arrested Wallis with help from Martin County and Broward County sheriff's offices.

"Organized retail theft drives up prices for consumers," said the Florida AG, "and that is not a result we are going to tolerate.
