Florsheim owner sues for refund of Trump-era shoe tariffs
Weyco Group, which owns Florsheim as well as Bogs and Nunn Bush, sued the federal government in December in the US Court of International Trade seeking refunds for tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. The company is betting the Supreme Court could strike those tariffs down.
Florsheim makes leather Oxford shoes that President Donald Trump wears; the pairs cost about $145. Trump has also given Florsheim shoes to members of his cabinet and to White House visitors such as Tucker Carlson. The White House wouldn't confirm his choice of Florsheim, and Weyco CEO Thomas Florsheim Jr.

Florsheim told Spectrum News 1 that the company paid tariff rates as high as 145% on shoes imported from China last year and that imports from India were later hit with duties after production shifted there.
