Former Mass Effect devs feel pressure to deliver big RPG Exodus
The former Mass Effect developers behind the sci-fi game Exodus say players are hungry for large, epic RPGs, and that creates intense pressure to meet expectations.
Exodus narrative director Drew Karpyshyn said, "We know there's a hunger out there. We're fans as well. We know the kind of games we like, and we know the audience is waiting for the next big one of these to drop, and that gives us a huge opportunity to fill that need. But it's an unbelievable amount of pressure, because their expectations are rightfully very high, and we're working very hard to make sure we meet those expectations."
Karpyshyn casts this as both an opportunity to satisfy demand and a heavy responsibility to live up to the hopes of players.
