After launching on Nov. 29 of last year, Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1 is winding down and will end on March 19. At 110 days it will be the third-longest Fortnite season, compared with the previous Simpsons-themed season, which ran just 28 days. Design director Ted Timmins answered fan questions in a social media Q&A and said Season 2 will bring an almost entirely refreshed weapon loot pool.

He wrote, "Season 2’s weapon loot pool is almost entirely refreshed from Season 1’s. I’m told that might be a first from season to season? Hope you’ll like it!" The story notes weapons lingered through Chapter 6 — the Sentinel Pump Shotgun was removed but the Iron Pump Shotgun arrived — and Timmins also teased locked bunkers and treasure rooms, new mobility items, more mid-game objectives and a new way to gain XP.

He added that he has no idea who keeps placing garden gnomes around the island, but called that person a hero.
