Starting today, the Fortnite Unreal Editor (UEFN) receives a large suite of Star Wars assets that let creators build fully fledged games set in the franchise. Epic Games and Lucasfilm have packaged characters such as Luke Skywalker and Din Djarin alongside iconic vehicles like X-Wings and TIE Fighters, not merely as cosmetic items but as tools designers can use to shape gameplay.

At a hands-off demo at GDC, Epic showed a reel of sample projects: a tycoon-style game with collectible droids, a large-scale dogfighting mode in an asteroid field, a sidescroller starring Luke, a multiplayer party mode with Tauntauns, a Hoth battle evoking Battlefield, and a Pilotwings-like TIE Fighter challenge.

Creators can let players use franchise skins without purchases, so a Chewbacca map can let anyone play as Chewbacca, and nearly every asset is tweakable — from X-Wing speed and firing rate to custom lightsabers and classic Force abilities like Push and Mind Trick.
