Fortnite faces fan backlash after V-Bucks price increase
Fortnite developer Epic Games has drawn criticism after revealing plans to raise the price of V‑Bucks and reduce value on optional purchases like the Battle Pass. Andrea Balta, senior director of ecosystem growth at Epic Games, responded to a disappointed player: "Seeing comments like 'the Item Shop is the main focus instead of the game' hits me really hard," she wrote.
The dev concluded, "Paying the bills frees up our teams to continue driving stories and building stuff you love." Fans reacted angrily. "Oh, I feel sooooooooo sorry that your poor little billion-dollar megacorporation can't afford to keep the lights on," one reply reads, adding, "You must be struggling to feed your families with those 10 billion dollars you made last year.
