Fortnite's V-Bucks are about to get more expensive
Fortnite is hugely popular and brings in substantial revenue, but it also costs a lot to run. Server infrastructure and payments to Fortnite content creators add up, and V-Bucks, Fortnite's virtual currency, are about to get more expensive.
Epic said, "The cost of running Fortnite has gone up a lot and we’re raising prices to help pay the bills." The company described the change as shrinkflation, which means a price increase achieved by reducing the size or quantity of the product.
At the same time, Epic is lowering the V-Bucks price of several passes. The Battle Pass and OG Pass will drop from 1,000 V-Bucks to 800 V-Bucks, while the Music Pass and Lego Pass fall from 1,400 V-Bucks to 1,200.
The Battle Bundle will go from 2,800 to 2,600 V-Bucks, and Battle Pass owners will still be able to earn enough V-Bucks by completing it to cover the cost of the next one — it will cost 800 V-Bucks instead of 1,000.
