Fox debuts The Faithful: Women of the Bible on March 22
Fox will air the new religious series The Faithful: Women of the Bible this Sunday, March 22. The first two episodes will appear on Fox and begin streaming on Hulu the following day, with new episodes arriving weekly until the final two episodes of Season 1 on April 5.
The series is billed as a dramatization of the Book of Genesis told through the eyes of women whose descendants shape the future of faith. René Echevarria created and wrote the show for television; Julie Weitz serves as showrunner, and Carol Mendelsohn and Franco Della Posta are producers.
Alexa Davalos stars as Rebekah, Minnie Driver as Sarah, Jeffrey Donovan as Abraham, Natacha Karam as Hagar and Blu Hunt as Rachel. The Faithful is being positioned as an alternative to The Chosen, which has become one of the most popular shows and helped spur renewed demand for faith-based content.
The series’ future beyond Season 1 has yet to be decided; Fox may pursue additional seasons if viewership proves strong.
