The Galaxy A35 5G aims for a balance between performance, quality and price, and it mostly succeeds. It isn’t flashy, but the phone delivers a well-rounded experience and is currently on sale for less than $200. The display stands out: a 6.6-inch Samsung Signature Super AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,000 nits of brightness, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+.

Battery life is another highlight — a 5,000mAh cell that can last two days with moderate use — though there’s no wireless charging and wired speeds are limited to 25W. Camera performance is mixed. The main 50MP shooter produces good color and exposure in many conditions, and the 13MP selfie camera is solid for social use.

The 8MP ultra-wide (123-degree) tends to be grainy, the 5MP macro is often washed out, and low-light shots show extra noise. Video can be recorded in 4K at 30fps, and Samsung’s camera app remains easy to use.
