Galaxy Book 6 Pro review: why I'd choose the Pro over the Ultra — Latest news

I didn’t expect to be impressed by the Galaxy Book 6 Pro — it looks like a toned-down version of the Book 6 Ultra on paper — but after using it I changed my mind. The Pro launches March 11 with prices starting at $1,600, and it delivers a premium experience that makes it a sensible pick if you don’t want to spend more than $2,000.

The laptop gets several fundamentals right but repeats a couple of familiar flaws: the keyboard feels mushy and the wrist rest has a sharp edge that can dig into your skin. The haptic touchpad is large and responsive, though, and the Pro is noticeably slimmer and lighter than the Ultra (0.46 inches/11.9mm and 3.5 pounds versus 0.6 inches/15.4mm and 4.1 pounds).

The AMOLED touchscreen runs at 120Hz, reaches up to 1,000 nits, and uses Corning Gorilla Glass, and Samsung’s Vision Booster adjusts for ambient light even if the display still struggles in harsh sunlight. Audio is strong too: the six-speaker system produces room-filling sound with good separation, despite some distortion on certain dance tracks.
