'Garfield' Paramount+ Series Casts Lamorne Morris
Paramount+ has greenlit a new 2D-animated Garfield series produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studios. Tentatively titled Garfield, the show draws on Jim Davis' comic strip and promises the cat's signature cynicism and guilt-free gluttony in a return to small-screen adventures.
The character will have an all-new voice following Chris Pratt's portrayal in The Garfield Movie. Lamorne Morris will voice Garfield. Morris won an Emmy for his role as Trooper Witt Farr in Fargo and is best known for playing Winston Bishop on New Girl; his credits also include Game Night, Bloodshot and Saturday Night.
He is set to star opposite Nicolas Cage in Prime Video's live-action Spider-Noir series, which has a premiere date set for May. Chris Pratt is slated to reprise the role in a sequel to 2024's The Garfield Movie; Alcon Entertainment and Sony Pictures announced the follow-up last July.
