Gate hits 50 million users and signals structural maturity
Gate says it has crossed 50 million registered users worldwide and is using the milestone to signal ecosystem maturity, positioning itself as harder to break rather than simply the most popular. The update leans into liquidity credibility, proof-of-reserves optics, and regulated market access — the three boxes any exchange wants to tick to project stability.
Gate ties much of its maturity message to reserve transparency. In a January 2026 proof-of-reserves update it reported a ratio rising from 124% to 125% and $9.478 billion in total reserves across nearly 500 assets as of January 6, 2026. Proof-of-reserves is modern exchange shorthand for a buffer, but it is not a full audit and may not capture liabilities, off-balance-sheet obligations, or operational risks; methodology varies and comparisons across platforms can be messy.
The exchange is also pushing a one-account, many-markets pitch, widening its product surface to include stock and metal tokens alongside forex, indices, commodities and other multi-asset offerings.
