Gavin Newsom slips into private Super Bowl parties, keeps low profile
Gov. Gavin Newsom turned up at pre-Super Bowl gatherings Thursday night, slipping into a Rao’s pop-up that recreated the famed New York red-sauce restaurant. As he entered, security hustled him past cameras and reporters; one guard was overheard saying they were trying to duck The California Post.
NFL great Joe Montana hosted the Rao’s dinner, where Rep. Nancy Pelosi was also seen chatting with the CEO of Polymarket as she headed in. A guest said Newsom’s table drew a crowd, and other attendees included Ronnie Lott, Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Stephen A. Smith and soccer player Midge Purce.
Later the same night Newsom appeared at Marshawn Lynch’s Super Bowl bash at the WME x TKO Lounge, avoiding photos. Lynch and Newsom previously teamed up on the podcast “Politickin’,” and the WME event at Epic Steak benefitted the Fam1st Foundation, featuring a silent auction of Lynch’s photography and surprise pop-up performances by Bay Area talent.
