Girl, 4, Drowned After Being Left Unattended at Pool
People reports that a 4-year-old girl in Michigan drowned after she was left alone in a pool with other children and no adult supervision. Oakland County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the Deer Lake Athletic Club at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan.
30, for a report of a possible drowning. Investigators say two adult women brought their six children, ages 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12, to the pool. "After placing several floating devices into the pool, the woman left the children unattended and went to the club's bar/restaurant area, where they ordered food and beverages," the sheriff's office said; the women reportedly were at the bar/restaurant area for approximately 35 minutes while the children were left alone in the pool area.
The 4-year-old was removed from the pool by her sister.
