Businessinsider reports that a Ford employee, TJ Sabula, who was suspended after heckling President Donald Trump during a visit to Ford's Michigan plant has drawn nearly $700,000 in GoFundMe donations in less than 24 hours. Video obtained by TMZ shows Trump raising his middle finger after someone shouted "pedophile protector" — which Sabula has said was him — during the visit.

The White House told several outlets that Trump was appropriately responding to "a lunatic" who "was wildly screaming expletives in a complete fit of rage." A UAW source confirmed the suspension. Laura Dickerson, the UAW vice president, said the worker "believes in freedom of speech" and that the union is reviewing the suspension; Sabula told The Washington Post he has "no regrets whatsoever." By mid afternoon on Wednesday two GoFundMe campaigns had raised more than $417,000 and $275,000 — roughly $692,000 total — with one page saying "TJ Sabula is a patriot" and urging support to "help him pay some bills (and force DJT to release the Trump/Epstein Files)." Both campaigns list "Thomas Sabula" as the beneficiary and neither page owner immediately responded to requests for comment.

The UAW said it is reviewing the suspension, and it is not yet known what action will follow.
