Goldman CEO David Solomon says he owns a 'very, very limited' amount of bitcoin
Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon said at the World Liberty Forum in Florida that he owns a "very, very limited" amount of bitcoin. He has not always spoken positively about the token; in 2024 he called bitcoin a speculative asset without a real use case. Solomon did not disclose how much he holds or how long he has owned it, saying he does not see himself as a forecaster but rather as an observer of crypto.
He also downplayed suggestions that bitcoin poses a threat to the US dollar, saying he was not concerned. Goldman has warmed to crypto recently and has a team assessing how to implement stablecoins, though it has not embraced the market as fully as peers like JPMorgan, which has rolled out tokenized offerings and its own JPM Coin.
