At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Google demonstrated a set of new Gemini AI features coming to Google TV devices, building on its initial Gemini rollout to Google TV in November.

The company showed that Gemini for Google TV will let viewers use natural language to find something to watch, get plot recaps, receive recommendations, or blend two people’s tastes. Gemini can help identify a show when users only remember a plot or an actor, and it can answer questions through a visually rich framework that combines text, imagery, video context and real-time sports updates.

Google also previewed educational "deep dives," where a narrated interactive overview appears on screen and users can ask follow-up questions, and photo and video tools that let users query Google Photos, apply artistic styles, and create cinematic slideshows.

A highlighted convenience feature lets users adjust TV settings by voice — for example saying "the screen is too dim" or "I can't hear the dialogue" — without leaving the content to navigate menus. Google said these features will arrive first on select TCL televisions before rolling out more broadly in the months ahead.

The new Gemini features require Google TV devices running Android TV OS 14 or higher, an internet connection and a Google account. Google noted that not all languages, countries or devices will be supported at launch.
