Google Q4 2025: capex surge, Gemini growth, subscriptions uptick
In a report from Businessinsider, Alphabet reported fourth-quarter earnings that exceeded Wall Street expectations and said it expects to roughly double capital expenditures in 2026 to $175 billion–$185 billion, a guidance that prompted a dip in the stock. Google announced annual revenue topped $400 billion for the first time, with quarterly revenue of $113.8 billion above estimates of $111 billion, and said Google Cloud revenue rose 48% year over year.
Its Gemini app now has over 750 million monthly active users, 100 million more than in October, with higher engagement since the December launch of Gemini 3; Google also said it lowered Gemini's serving unit costs by 78% over 2025 through model optimizations, efficiency, and utilization improvements.
