Google Search Volume For 'Bitcoin' Surges Amid $60K Plunge
Google search volume for "Bitcoin" surged over the past week, with Google Trends provisional data giving worldwide searches a score of 100 for the week starting Feb. 1 — the highest level in the past 12 months. The previous peak was 95 in the week of Nov. 16–23, when Bitcoin slipped below the $100,000 level for the first time in nearly six months.
The spike in interest came as Bitcoin plunged from about $81,500 on Feb. 1 to roughly $60,000 within five days, then rebounded to $70,740 at the time of publication. Bitcoin is down 15.51% over the past seven days. Search interest commonly rises during large price moves, including sharp sell‑offs and rallies.
Some market observers say broader retail attention is returning.
