GoveeLife Smart Nugget Ice Maker Pro produces fast nugget ice but costs $500
ZDNET reviewed the GoveeLife Smart Nugget Ice Maker Pro, a countertop machine that produces soft nugget ice, can make up to 2.5 pounds per hour, and is priced at $500; ZDNET also notes the bucket stores and keeps ice cool for hours. The unit measures 16 inches deep, 17 inches high and 10.5 inches wide, with the additional water tank adding roughly 3 inches in width, and fits under kitchen cabinets.
It has a black box design with a top screen, a tinted window and customizable lighting; a thin light along the bucket indicates when the bucket is full or the machine needs cleaning, and the ice scoop attaches magnetically to the water tank. GoveeLife touts AI NoiseGuard technology to cut disruptive noise and an automatic thaw feature to prevent freeze-ups; ZDNET’s reviewer heard a constant hum while the machine made ice but found it not loud and said it was inaudible from the next room.
The app supports scheduling, start/stop controls, reminders for low water and cleaning, and voice control via Alexa and Google Assistant. GoveeLife claims the machine can begin producing ice in as little as six minutes, and ZDNET says those production claims appear accurate. ZDNET described the ice as comparable to fast-food nugget ice and called the machine a luxury purchase that many buyers will find worth the price for daily convenience and fast output, including for hosting.
