Grayscale has filed an S-1 registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a spot Hyperliquid exchange-traded fund. The proposed Grayscale HYPE ETF would track the price movement of the Hyperliquid (HYPE) token and, if approved, trade under the ticker GHYP on the Nasdaq.

The filing lists Coinbase as custodian and does not disclose a management fee. Unlike Bitwise, Grayscale does not plan to incorporate staking for its Hyperliquid ETF at launch but has not ruled out integrating staking later if certain conditions are met. Staking would allow GHYP investors to earn yield on top of potential price appreciation from the HYPE token.

Bitwise filed for its Hyperliquid ETF in September and amended it in December to include staking, while 21Shares contemplated staking in its October filing. Hyperliquid is being integrated by crypto platforms and increasingly relied upon by TradFi when traditional markets are closed, offering 24/7 trading for tokenized real-world assets such as oil and gold.
