Pagesix reports Green Day will kick off the Super Bowl LX opening ceremony on Feb. 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

The NFL announced on Jan. 18 that the East Bay–native trio — Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool — will open the championship game in “a high-energy opening ceremony celebrating Super Bowl’s 60th anniversary.” The league said the band will open the game “by ushering generations of Super Bowl MVPs onto the field with a dynamic performance of their most iconic rock anthems.” Armstrong said, “We are super hyped to open Super Bowl 60 right in our backyard! We are honored to welcome the MVPs who’ve shaped the game and open the night for fans all over the world. Let’s have fun! Let’s get loud!”

The opening ceremony will air live at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT on NBC, Telemundo, Peacock and Universo, with Charlie Puth, Brandi Carlile and Coco Jones rounding out the pregame entertainment and Bad Bunny set for the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show. Separately, Good Charlotte played their first Los Angeles show in 10 years on Jan. 17 at iHeartRadio ALTer EGO, Charli XCX’s Wuthering Heights album is set for Feb. 13 (the same day the film opens), and Halsey’s Back to Badlands Tour continues with dates abroad.
