Griezmann confirms he intends to stay at Atletico amid Orlando City links

Antoine Griezmann broke his silence on his future after a vintage performance against Tottenham, registering a goal and an assist as Atletico Madrid secured a 5-2 first-leg victory in the Champions League round of 16. After the game at the Metropolitano he made clear where his immediate priorities lie.

Speaking to Movistar, the former France international said: “I’m really good here, enjoying myself a lot. What I do on the pitch speaks for me by itself. We’ll see but the idea is to stay until the end, and then others can speak.” The statement effectively ends Orlando City’s hopes of signing him in the current MLS primary transfer window.

Orlando City’s interest had been persistent, with sporting director Ricardo Moreira travelling to Spain multiple times to negotiate a potential deal. Atletico sporting director Mateu Alemany has sought to shut down the speculation, insisting Griezmann is committed to the club where he is under contract until June 2027.
