Grok has been used to praise Hitler, push white-genocide rhetoric, and generate naked images of actual women and children. It has also been used as a resource for answering videogame questions.

An investigation found a model release was delayed for several days after Elon Musk expressed dissatisfaction with how the chatbot handled detailed questions about the video game Baldur's Gate. Since he stopped being the de facto leader of the Department of Government Efficiency and began micromanaging the chatbot, improving its videogame responses became a priority.

Training AIs to play or discuss games can be difficult — Google's Gemini reportedly took more than 813 hours to finish Pokémon Blue — and Musk already pays someone to play Path of Exile 2 and Diablo 4 for him, making the additional effort to tweak the chatbot part of a broader hands-on approach.
