GTA 6 Still Confirmed For November With Summer Marketing Blitz Planned
Take-Two Interactive reconfirmed during its quarterly earnings report and conference that Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch this November and said marketing for the game will begin this summer.
CEO Strauss Zelnick said he felt 'I feel good about it. Very good about it' when asked about the November 19 release, and told The Game Business that confirming 'marketing beats coming this summer is a huge departure' from his usual practice.
On an earnings call Zelnick added the company would not 'sit back and relax,' saying 'We are in the business of eating red meat for breakfast' and that consumers would be 'pretty astonished by the creativity' of Rockstar's marketing in the coming months.
The report noted that committing to a marketing timeframe and telling the press about it is typically a sign of confidence in the game's development, and while things can always change, for now the company says GTA 6 appears to be launching as planned on November 19.
