Guardian test: top electric heaters in the UK, from Beldray to Everhot

The Guardian reviewed a range of electric heaters for UK homes and shortlisted nine models from an initial 12 tested, naming the Beldray 2,000W smart ceramic core radiator as the best overall and highlighting budget, fan, stove-style and efficient options. The reviewer tested each heater in a living room at maximum output, measuring air-temperature gain with a digital thermometer, noise levels, enclosure temperature with an infrared thermometer and energy draw with a power-usage meter.

Timed heating, app operability and other special features were also trialled; some supplied models will be donated to Cat Action Trust 1977.
