Pep Guardiola was unhappy that the first of Dominic Solanke's two goals stood during Manchester City's 2-2 draw at Tottenham on Sunday. City had deservedly taken a 2-0 lead in the first half, with Rayan Cherki opening the scoring before Antoine Semenyo doubled the advantage, and could have scored more before the break.

Tottenham roared back after the interval as Solanke scored twice — the second with an acrobatic scorpion kick — to earn a draw that left City six points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal. Solanke's first strike was contentious, appearing to kick through the legs of Marc Guehi and hit the defender's calf before going in, but the goal survived a VAR check despite Citys protests.

Guardiola told BBC Radio 5 Live: "Well, if you do it to a striker it would be a penalty. I'm not a referee. Fascinating in the Premier League." At his press conference he added: "If a central defender does it to a striker, it's a penalty, right?
