Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos announced Monday that all Guthrie siblings and their spouses have been officially cleared as suspects in the ongoing Nancy Guthrie kidnapping case. He said, “The family has been nothing but cooperative and gracious and are victims in this case,” and pushed back against what he called “cruel” speculation as the investigation enters its third week.

Interest had focused on Tommaso Cioni, who is married to Annie Guthrie and was the last known person to see Nancy before she was reported missing. Nanos urged caution, saying, “If he is guilty, if he’s the one who did it, and we’re able to prove that, then at that time jump on it, but don’t come out of nowhere with this,” and warning against putting a mark on someone who could be innocent.

Nancy disappeared from her Tucson home after a family outing and failed to attend church the following day; she was reported missing on Feb. 1. Savannah Guthrie and her siblings Annie and Camron have used social media to plead for their mother’s safe return.
