It’s been more than a decade since Guy Ritchie last returned to Sherlock Holmes with Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Ahead of its March 4 debut, Ritchie’s new Prime Video series Young Sherlock — an eight-episode take on a younger Holmes — has already drawn attention.

The show currently holds a 100% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, though that rating comes from only eight reviews and is likely to change as more critics weigh in. Still, the early reception suggests the series has made a strong first impression. Reviewers praised the series for balancing classic detective storytelling with a fresh approach and highlighted the chemistry between Hero Fiennes Tiffin as the young Sherlock and Dónal Finn as James Moriarty.

The supporting cast includes Joseph Fiennes as Silas Holmes, Natascha McElhone as Cordelia Holmes, Zine Tseng as Princess Gulun Shou’an, Max Irons as Mycroft Holmes and Colin Firth as Sir Bucephalus Hodge.
