Restoration has been completed on Hangar One, a historic landmark in the San Francisco Bay Area and a key part of the region’s early aviation history. Planetary Ventures finished the project in December 2025 at Moffett Federal Airfield in California’s Silicon Valley, modernizing the structure while preserving its original visual character.

The work included remediation, clean-up, and recladding of the siding and roof, along with a range of structural upgrades. The hangar was built in 1933 for the USS Macon and changed hands several times before being transferred to federal control in 1994. Routine testing in 1997 discovered PCBs, and later sampling identified asbestos and lead in the original siding and paint; the Navy removed exterior components and sealed the steel frame with epoxy to contain contaminants.
