Harry Maguire has been found guilty of non-serious assault and handed a suspended 15-month jail sentence, reduced from an original 21 months, following a retrial into a violent incident in Greece in 2020. He was arrested six years ago while holidaying with eight other people, including his sister, brother and wife.

The retrial went ahead on Wednesday at the fifth attempt as Maguire continued to face allegations of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and attempted bribery stemming from an alleged brawl on Mykonos in August 2020. The earlier conviction was automatically quashed on appeal under Greek law and the retrial had been postponed four times; Maguire did not attend the hearing as he prepared for United's Premier League match at Newcastle.

The suspended sentence was reduced in length and severity, and he no longer has to pay a fine.
